About

Jeff McClain began his tenure as the Assistant Coach of the Women's Basketball team prior to the 2013-14 season and was named Associate Head Coach at the start of the 2022-23 season. He was the head of recruiting as the women’s basketball team has brought in several very good recruiting classes. Jeff also plays a huge role in developing scouting reports, defensive game planning, and player development. During these years, Coach McClain also coached travel basketball for Oh/Ky Crush and Kentucky Premier.

Originally from Hickman, Ky., McClain played one season at Three Rivers Community College in Poplar Bluff, Mo., before transferring to Murray State University. He earned the Racer Hustle Award his junior season, appearing in all 36 games off the MSU bench, and had a critical blocked shot late in the Racers’ NCAA tournament win over Vanderbilt. McClain started all 32 games his senior season and led the squad in field goal percentage (.583). In all, he appeared in 99 games at MSU, ending his career with 525 points and 458 rebounds. Following his senior season, McClain was given the Popeye Jones – Mr. MSU Award, presented annually to the student-athlete who displays excellence in all areas on and off the court.
